Trying to get to a Five Star

I have no loyalty to any particular hotel chain.  I have minimum requirements.  It must be a 3 1/2 Star or 4 Star Hotel.  Furthermore, I almost always book via Priceline.  I've raved about Priceline in the past;  here is a quick example;  I booked two nights at the La Posada Resort and Spa.  My winning bid was $100.00 per night plus taxes/fees which came to a grand total of $228.00.  Not a bad price considering the hotels rates listed on their website were $269.00 per night.

When I landed in ABQ I planned on riding the RailRunner line to Santa Fe. In fact, I even purchased a ticket in advance.  While sitting in the ABQ/Sunport Airport, I figured a rental car would make more sense.  I whipped out my laptop, a quick reservation via National for $23.00 per day for a full size car was a steal; until I saw the total price came to $70.00....which was $23.00 per day for two days or total $46.00.  The fees were $24.00...airport surcharge and local rental tax. Very insane.   I got my rental car and drove one hour North on I25 to Santa Fe.

It was a beautiful drive and I was very happy once I arrived at my hotel; La Posada Resort & Spa....the hotel is on the Palace Ave section and in the main plaza area. The rooms are like little  private hotels, nice grounds and has the adobe style architecture.
